The ABGD congratulates Dr.  Morgan Scholtes of the AEGD program at Wichita State University, under the direction of Dr. Dean Elledge and Dr. Jane Park of the AEGD program at Eastern Carolina University, under the direction of Dr. David MacPherson.

Both residents participated in providing care to indigent patients through several state and community outreach programs, including the Kansas Mission of Mercy and the Hyde County Dental Clinic

$1000 has been distributed to each awardee recognizing their admirable altruistic community service and we hope to see them soon challenging BoardCertification.

The Sandra Mitchell Award for Community Service was established to recognize outstanding post-graduate dental general practice residents

who altruistically provide humanitarian dental service and support to underserved communities.

Applications for the 2025 Award are accepted until May 31, 2025
